Soloy Aviation Solutions has obtained approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for its Honeywell engine conversion for the Eurocopter AS350BA and B2.

The company already had supplemental type certificates from the U.S. FAA (SR00805SE for the LTS101-600A-3A in the AS350BA and SR01647SE for the LTS101-700D-2 in the AS350B2). Issuance of Brazilian approvals (CHST Nos. 2008S01-12 for STC SR00805SE and 2008S01-13 for STC SR01647SE) have now been completed.

Over the last 24 months, Soloy has supplied over 75 SD1 (BA) and SD2 (B2) kits in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. "This approval opens the way for Brazilian operators to have the same engine options for these very popular helicopters as enjoyed by our many existing customers," said David Stauffer, Soloy’s CEO. "Proven benefits of enhanced performance, maintenance-cost reduction and reduced fuel consumption are becoming well known."
