A new venue for the helicopter industry will be opening its doors May 15 in Moscow. HeliRussia 2008 is supported by the Helicopter Assn International and the Russian Federal Agency of Industry.

This new trade show, open to both industry and the public, aims to showcase a segment of the industry that normally doesn’t have the opportunity to display their products to Western eyes.

Among the more familiar airframe manufacturers seen at HAI’s Heli-Expo, HeliRussia will include Mil and Kazan.

Like HAI’s American show, the Moscow show will include many suppliers and subcontractors, again with a notable presence from the Russian helicopter community.

Organizers of the event expect 10,000 visitors in the show’s first year.

According to the organizers, visas are very easy to obtain and a link to the application website is available at — Evan Sweetman
