AgustaWestland and the Italian fashion house Versace are expanding their cooperation to offer a range of exclusively designed cabin interiors and layouts for the AW139.

They unveiled an exclusive Versace AW139 interior at Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston. This unique AW139 interior employs fine materials and Versace’s standards of craftsmanship.

The companies first announced the start of their cooperation by showcasing the first AgustaWestland-dedicated Versace interior in a Grand light twin during Heli-Expo 2007. Now the two companies are taking their cooperation beyond the Grand to provide a wide range of design for the most luxurious and stylish helicopter interiors in the market for VIP and corporate helicopter customers.

The companies are not after money, said AgustaWestland’s senior vice president of the commercial business unit, Renzo Lunardi. "This is not a commercial product. This is an artistic product, a unique product."

More than 330 orders have been placed for the AW139 by over 80 customers in more than 30 countries worldwide, including over 40 aircraft in the corporate and VIP transport sector. The new-generation medium twin has set new standards for performance, safety and economics. — Thomas McKenna
