Sikorsky Aircraft expects to make the first flight of a fly-by-wire UH-60M Black Hawk by early May. That milestone on the latest upgrade of the Black Hawk for the U.S. Army could come as early as the end of this month. It is one of several fly-by-wire projects the manufacturer is pursuing; others include its X2 Technology Demonstrator and the Canadian Maritime Helicopter based on the S-92. The fly-by-wire system would be delivered on a -60M until about ship No. 220; it is approaching delivery of the 40th -60M. The "Mike" models are to deploy with the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne by the end of the year. For related news
