Paradigm Aerospace has delivered a new Bell Helicopter 407 equipped with the Chelton Flight Systems dual-display electronic flight instrumentation system, (EFIS) to a mutual customer of it and AirLounge Commercial and Consulting LTDA based in Brazil.

This is the first Chelton EFIS-equipped helicopter to be delivered into Brazil, according to Paradigm.

The avionics suite was centered on the installation of the Chelton EFIS, which was interfaced to a Ryan International Traffic and Collision Alert Device (TCAD), L-3 Avionics Stormscope, and radar altimeter systems. Other avionics customizing included a standby attitude indicator and an avionics master switch, as well as switching on the pilot’s cyclic to control the communications radios. Navigation and communication equipment included a Garmin GNS 530W Nav/Comm/GPS, Honeywell KY 196B Comm, and a Honeywell KR 87 ADF. A Garmin GTX 327 transponder with blind encoder and a Honeywell KRA405B radar altimeter were also installed.

Aircraft audio is controlled through a GMA 347 audio panel with marker beacon, including four-place cabin ICS with copilot foot switches controlling transmit and cabin ICS call.

Aircraft entertainment includes cockpit and cabin IPod jacks interfaced directly to the audio panel. The aircraft also has a 406 MHz ELT interfaced to the GPS.
