Hong Kong’s Government Flying Service is sending one of its Eurocopter Super Puma’s to China’s Sichuan region to aid in earthquake relief operations there. The aircraft and crews are to assist in rescue and quarantine work in the region, which was devastated by an earthquake May 12. Controller Michael Chan said the Government Flying Service also has sent a Jetstream 41 fixed-wing aircraft to the region. It has two pilots, two aircrewman officers, two aircraft engineers and one aircraft technician working in the region. They are stationed at a civil aviation training school in Guanghan city.
