Eurocopter Buys Motorflug, Wins More CH-53G Work

Eurocopter is acquiring the German helicopter maintenance specialist Motorflug Baden-Baden GmbH. Motorflug, which has bases in Baden-Baden, Rheinmünster and Schönhagen near Berlin, will become an integral part of Eurocopter’s service and support business for civil helicopters. “We have identified the service area as one of our strategic axes of growth,” said Eurocopter CEO Lutz Bertling. “Motorflug, with its broad spectrum of service capabilities, fits perfectly into our portfolio.” In the military market, Eurocopter won a €24 million contract to retrofit six more German army Sikorsky Aircraft CH-53Gs with ballistic self-protection and specific mission equipment.
