New Squadron Arrives at Cherry Point

Effective Oct. 23, the last of two new helicopter units was activated at the U.S. Marine Corps air station at Cherry Point,N.C. Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 467 stood up with a fleet of UH-1N twin-engine utility helicopters and AH-1W Cobra attack helicopters with the latest engine and technology upgrades. It is the first time either model of aircraft has been stationed at the base. The unit's aircraft and 150-person compliment share the base with the first of the two new units, Marine Heavy Lift Squadron 366, which was activated on Sept. 30 with eight CH-53E Stallion helicopters and 111 Marines.
