Eduard Van Dam was appointed as the new CEO of Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd., a Private Air Logistics Helicopter Company in India. In his new role, Mr. Van Dam will be responsible for spearheading the entire operations of GVHL in the Indian subcontinent, overseeing the company’s growth and expansion.

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) hired association marketing veteran Chris Strong as its new vice president, membership marketing. He officially joined the Association on January 5, and reports to NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

Helicopter Association International (HAI) announced the 2009 Helicopter Maintenance Award recipient, Rich Higgins; helicopter crew chief, Cablevision Systems Corp, Farmingdale, N.Y. Higgins is currently Cablevision’s lead crew chief on the Sikorsky S-76, working on all models of the aircraft from the B to the current C++.


HAI also announced that W. "Dub" Blessing and Dennis Nichols will receive HAI’s Honorary Lifetime Member Awards at Heli-Expo 2009, during HAI’s 48th annual "Salute to Excellence" awards ceremony and banquet.

Ranger Rotorcraft Group, Inc., promoted Edward Bolden to president. Bolden will be responsible for guiding all operations for civilian helicopter completions and MRO, military helicopter retrofits, engineering services, parts sales, helicopter subsystems manufacturing, all supporting shops and services, plus the customer service, marketing, financial, facilities, and administrative teams.
