CHC Group’s Heli-One, was awarded a new contract worth $8.9 million to complete avionics upgrades on two Eurocopter AS332M1 Super Pumas. The helicopters will receive, among other upgrades, installation of night vision goggles.

The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence awarded a nearly $45-million contract to Cobham Aviation Services’ joint venture, FB Heliservices (FBH). FBH will now provide eight civil owned military registered Bell 212HPs.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. was awarded a $5.7-million contract to support the planned retrofit of MH-60S. This includes the design and development of retrofit kits; and preparation and delivery of two routine action technical directives for the MH-60S Warfighter Operational Safety Improvement Program. Work is expected to be completed in June 2011.


BAE Systems received a $90-million contract to make cockpit seats and cabin armor for 156 new Sikorsky CH-53K heavy-lift helicopters. The seats and armor will be designed specifically for the aircraft before production begins. This initial contract covers test aircraft, with additional contracts expected for production helicopters.

Maritime Helicopter Support Company, was awarded a $327-million contract for Navy H-60 weapons repairables, assemblies and shop replaceable assemblies covering various airframes and avionics systems in support of the H-60s.
