The pilot of the S-92 that crashed about 45 mi off the the coast of Newfoundland yesterday, carrying two pilots and 16 offshore workers, reported a mechanical problem and issued an emergency alert before disappearing into the frigid Atlantic waters. Those aboard were believed to be wearing survival suits that would allow them to survive for 24-30 hours in cold water. But, those suits carry beacons and no signal was received from the suits. The search for the missing will continue today. For related news
