In other offshore news, Bristow Group said it plans to layoff less that 10 percent of its workforce and freeze management salaries in hopes to ride out the current economic situation. The Houston-based company provides offshore helicopter services and has already reduced staffing in the Gulf of Mexico and other worldwide locations. Its European affiliate, Bristow Helicopter Group, is in talks with union reps about proposed layoffs there. The number and location of the staff affected is currently unknown. For related news
