The new EC135/EC145 flight training device (FTD) will be used to train STAT-MedEvac pilots. American Eurocopter began operating the simulator in December 2008, with U.S. Army aviators becoming the first pilots to use the system in training for the UH-72A. STAT MedEvac, an air medical service, is a long-time client for Eurocopter and has now signed a long-term contract for the training. The FTD, in Grand Prairie, Texas, was certified by the FAA as a Level 6 FTD with motion, which will be followed by FAA approval later this year as a Level B Full Flight Simulator. For related news
