X2 Heads South for More Testing

Sikorsky’s X2 helicopter prototype is being shipped to an airfield 12 miles west of West Palm Beach, Fla. to continue testing for its expected record-breaking speed flight. Sikorsky will also move a contingent of support personnel from the aircraft’s place of birth in Elmira, NY to the Florida location, as well. Sikorsky is hoping that the X2, with its counter-rotating main rotor system and pusher-prop design, will allow the test aircraft to shatter all speed records for helicopters. To see the X2
