The Louisville (Kentucky) Metropolitan Police Department is back in the air again, but for how long? The agency’s MD520N had received extensive damage in an accident in August of 2006 and was sent to Phoenix for repairs. It returned to the flight line this month. But Chief of Police Robert White told a local television news team that the city’s tight operating budget may lead to the sale of Air Unit 20. Its sister ship, Air Unit 10, also an MD520N, was sold due to budget cuts a year ago. The city has not made any firm decisions about closing the helicopter unit, but White said everything is on the table. For related information
