Montreal-based Canadian Helicopters said its first quarter revenues rose by almost six percent this year, partly due, they said, to a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense. Canadian Helicopters provides three fully-crewed Bell 212s to serve troops in Afghanistan as personnel and supply transporters throughout the region. The contract is for one year, with four one-year extensions at the military’s discretion. If all options are taken, the deal will be worth more than $120 million (USD) during the five-year period.
