N.Y. Senator Fights VH-71 Loss

Lockheed Martin announced plans to cut up to 750 jobs in New York, due to the cancellation of the Marine One program. Now, N.Y. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand called for sustained funding for the 19 Increment One aircraft because the U.S. has already spent $3.3 billion on the program and she wants to keep her constituents employed. Nine aircraft have already been produced and the DoD will have to spend millions more in contract termination costs. For related news
