EMS Helicopter Gets to Work

Flight for Life Transport System’s first of two new Eurocopter EC145s has begun operations. The EMS helicopter, which is based at the organization’s headquarters in Waukesha, Wis., received a number of upgrades. Among the installations from Helicopter Specialties of Janesville are a modified interior, wire strike protection system, Honeywell Mark II EGPWS, dual GPS units with WAAS capability, weather radar and satellite tracking system. The EC145 is also night vision goggle (NVG) compatible.
