Human-Powered Helicopter Competition Expands

Sikorsky Aircraft has increased its donation to the Igor I. Sikorsky Human-Powered Helicopter Competition to $250,000. The competition, created by the American Helicopter Society Intl, awards a person that can develop a human-powered helicopter rising up to three meters and hovering for more than 60 seconds. Professor Akira Naito of Nihon University in Japan holds the current world record of hovering at 0.2 meters for 19.46 seconds.
