AgustaWestland has completed the first flight of the British Army’s Lynx AH Mk.9A with upgraded CTS800-4N engines. The 60-minute flight was conducted on Wednesday at AgustaWestland’s facility in Yeovil, England. The current timeline for the program calls for the manufacturer to hand over four helicopters in late 2009, with the remaining eight under contract delivered next year. The CTS800s will supply up to 40 percent more power than the current Gem engines in the Lynx helicopters.
