American Eurocopter has handed over two EC120s in recent weeks — to JRW Aviation and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit in Indiana. Dallas, Texas-based JRW will perform corporate and VIP transport missions with the helicopter. One Turbomeca Arrius 2F engine powers the JRW EC120, which also features a vehicle and engine multifunction display (VEMD) and Fenestron tail rotor.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department EC120 will serve in a variety of roles for the Aviation Unit, such as patrol, pursuit assistance and aerial support for K-9, aquatics, marine and tactical special ops units.

Aero Dynamix of Euless, Texas installed a NVG/NVIS lighting modification on the Lake County helicopter at Eurocopter’s plant in Grand Prairie, Texas. American Eurocopter reports that 125 EC120s are being used in U.S.-based operations.
