Sikorsky Aircraft company PZL has begun final assembly on the first S-70i Black Hawk helicopter at its facility in Mielec, Poland. The achievement signifies the start of an international variant of the Black Hawk. Assembly began on August 17, with completion anticipated in 2010.

PZL is also working on Black Hawk helicopter cabins, finishing four through early September. Sikorsky has integrated three of the cabins into its UH-60M assembly line in the U.S., while the fourth one will be used for the first S-70i.
