Pierce County Sheriff’s Department officials in Washington are planning to file a complaint with prosecutors after a news helicopter allegedly impeded an investigation into the shooting of a police officer. A Sheriff’s Dept spokesman says that the helicopter delayed operations after hovering over the crime scene and initially refusing to pull back. According to reports, the television station, KING 5, at first declined a request from police to back off, saying that the Air Force and FAA told them the airspace was not closed.
