Fort Worth, Texas-based Bell Helicopter has obtained a U.S. Army contract to modify the last 30 OH-58D helicopters that are involved in the Kiowa Warrior safety enhancement program (SEP). The OH-58Ds fall under Lot 13 of the SEP, with work set to begin imminently. Bell will redeliver the helicopters—which will receive engine, control system and wiring harnesses, among other improvements—in July 2010 at a rate of two per month, running through the end of 2011. Lot 12 work is scheduled to be complete in May 2010. Modifications on the Lot 13 OH-53Ds will take place at Bell’s Plant 1 facility in Fort Worth. (From April 2010 Rotorcraft Report)
