Stratford, Conn.-based Sikorsky Aircraft and Lockheed Martin announced Monday a bid to offer the H-92T for the U.S. Navy’s VXX Presidential Helicopter program. AgustaWestland and Lockheed Martin beat out a Sikorsky-led team in 2005 for a contract to replace the Marine One fleet with the US101, a variant of the AgustaWestland EH101. But that deal was cancelled in 2009. Under the new agreement, Sikorsky would build the airframes and Lockheed Martin would be responsible for the H-92’s integrated systems.
