Columbia Sends Chinooks to PNG

Aurora, Ore.-based Columbia Helicopters is planning to deploy two additional Model 234 Chinooks to Papua New Guinea for petroleum exploration missions. One of the helicopters is under contract with Oil Search Ltd. of Sydney, Australia and the other with Talisman Energy. Each helicopter will have a crew of 5-6 pilots and up to 12 maintenance personnel, who will consult with load coordinators and load managers. They will join another pair of Chinooks that are currently stationed in PNG.
