Two Ka-32As Enter Service with Azerbaijan EMS Ministry

Russian Helicopters has handed over two Kamov Ka-32A helicopters to the Azerbaijan Ministry of Emergency Situations. Under a contract signed in 2008, Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise built the Ka-32As, which were delivered in early May, with demonstration flights occurring on May 8. The coaxial (two-rotor) Ka-32A, which can carry up to 13 passengers, features TV3-117VMA engines. The multi-function helicopters can be used in EMS, cargo or passenger transport, construction, search and rescue, patrol/surveillance and firefighting roles. (From June 2010 Rotorcraft Report)
