Pensacola, Fla.-based Heliworks is using EMS Aviation’s Fleet aircraft tracking system to assist with bird rescue efforts in the Gulf of Mexico. Heliworks has seven Bell 206Ls equipped with the Fleet system that are assisting the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to find oil-covered birds. The agency monitors the helicopter’s location, speed, heading and altitude through a web-based automated flight following (AFF) map.
