Kawasaki Heavy Industries Aerospace Co. (KHI) has signed a 15-year extension of its partnership with Eurocopter on the EC145. The two companies began working together in 1977 with the development of the BK117—the designation was changed to EC145 in 1999, but is known as the BK117 C-2 in Japan. Eurocopter CEP Lutz Bertling and KHI President Shigeru Murayama finalized the agreement at the Farnborough Airshow this week.
