FAA Issues TSO for Sandel HeliTAWS

Vista, Calif.-based Sandel Avionics has received FAA technical standard order (TSO) approval for its HeliTAWS terrain awareness and warning system. The TSO incorporates Sandel’s TrueAlert—a nuisance alert system—and off-airport landing and 3D terrain capabilities into basic Class A TAWS functions.
