Sebastien Dubois, project officer for the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking, will give a presentation on October 6 at Helitech Portugal covering how developments in technology and design can lower the negative environmental effects of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Dubois will focus on how the Clean Sky program will directly impact helicopters through the Green Rotorcraft Integrated Technology Demonstrator (ITD). The ITD is one of six demonstrators the program is using to implement more efficient use of energy and materials, as well as reducing emissions, for helicopters. Green Rotorcraft ITD is seeking to lower carbon dioxide emissions by 26-40 percent and nitrogen oxide by 53-65 percent, as well as reduce noise pollution by 50 percent, through 2020.
