Bloomington, Minn.-based Donaldson Aerospace & Defense is now testing the engine air particle protection system (EAPPS) for the heavy-lift Sikorsky CH-53K. The unit completed Critical Design Review (CDR) in August 2010. According to Sheila Peyraud, Aerospace & Defense general manager, EAPPS entered developmental testing in November 2010 in support of the CH-53K’s GE38-1B engines. Qualification testing is scheduled to start this May.
