Bell Helicopter introduced two new variants of the 407 during Heli-Expo—the 407AH and 407GX. The AH version, complete with weapons such as the Dillon M134T minigun and M260 rocket launching system, is designed for commercial market applications such as law enforcement, patrol and paramilitary operations. Several custom weapons packages are available, as well as a number of options, including AAI bulged skylights and inlet barrier filter, wire strike protection and quick release pins for crew doors.

The 407GX is the launch airframe for the Garmin G1000H glass cockpit, which was also uncovered during the show. The avionics system has a number of features specifically for the Part 27 helicopter market, including HTAWS, navigation, weather, traffic warnings, diagnostics and a maintenance computer. Garmin will include HSVT, HTAWS and a tail rotor camera on the Bell 407GX.
