Queensland Rescue Gets Goodrich Award

During its 10th annual rescue hoist user’s conference, Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems presented its Rescue of the Year award to the Rescue 500 and 510 teams from Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ) Helicopter Rescue in Australia. Operating a pair of AgustaWestland AW139s, the two crews hoist rescued 43 people during the nation’s devastating flooding in January 2011. Rescue 500 and 510 team members included pilots Mark Kempton and Peter Row; aircrewmen Brett Knowles and Daren Parsons; rescue crewman David Turnbull, Mark Turner and Stuart Wark; intensive care paramedics Jason Jones and Illya Selmes; and doctor Glen Ryan.
