Upgraded Puma Mk2 Takes Off

Eurocopter’s first upgraded Puma Mk2 for the UK Royal Air Force has made its initial flight in Marignane, France. The helicopter is part of the Puma Life Extension program, which aims to increase performance in hot and high conditions. The project will also include installation of new engines and digital flight control, communications and navigation systems. The Puma Mk2s are scheduled to enter RAF service in 2012.
