Lockheed Martin has completed the first airborne, maritime/fixed station Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) for the U.S. Army’s Boeing AH-64D Apache. The JTRS provides the military with secure multimedia communications in real time from remote locations, such as foxholes. The Army’s Apache Avionics Integration Lab in Mesa, Ariz. will install the JTRS as part of the AH-64D Block III upgrades.
