Colombia-based Helistar has purchased three EC145s from Eurocopter Mexico. Helistar will use the aircraft for oil and gas transportation as part of a five-year service contract with Ecopetrol. The first two helicopters are scheduled for handover in 2012, with the third arriving in 2013. This order increases Helistar’s EC145 fleet to seven. The company also flies Bell 206s, 212s and 412s, as well as Russian Helicopters MI-8s and MI-171s.
