Helicopter Association International (HAI) President Matt Zuccaro is weighing in on recent developments to pass FAA reauthorization in Congress. In a statement released Feb. 1, Zuccaro notes that after five years and 23 funding extensions, “we are gratified and relieved to see such a major step forward.”

Assuming Congress passes the bill and the president signs it, FAA “will finally have the long-term financial stability it has needed to be able to plan for the future, especially for air traffic control modernization,” he added. “Helicopter operators in the Gulf of Mexico are already benefiting from NextGen and know how important modernization will be for the rest of the national airspace system,” Zuccaro said.
