AgustaWestland and CAE joint venture, Rotorsim, is set to become the first provider of AW189 full-flight simulator training. The CAE 3000 Series sim will begin service third quarter 2013 in Sesto Calende, Italy.

According to John Ponsonby, AgustaWestland senior vice president of training, type conversion, recurrent and operational role training will be available in the simulator.

CAE has also reached agreements to provide simulation-based training for three programs. Sikorsky S-92 training, including in the SAR role, will take place in Stavanger, Norway, with S-92 and Eurocopter EC225 instruction in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Both sites will include CAE 3000 Series Level D-certified simulators, featuring the Simfinity e-learning program.
