Authorities are pointing at a possible wire strike incident as the cause of a Eurocopter AS532 AL Cougar crash last week in France. Six people—all employees of Eurocopter—died as a result of the crash. According to local police, preliminary evidence indicates that the helicopter may have struck an electrical cable in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region near the Italian border. The aircraft was performing a final test flight prior to delivery.
