EADS division Cassidian has agreed to provide the German Armed Forces with support in Afghanistan related to the mobile version of its computer-based operations support system, which is compatible with the Eurocopter's CH-53GA and Tiger, and the NH90 in both the tactical transport (TTH) and light transport (LTH) variants. Eight mobile EUA (Einsatzunterstutzungsanlage) systems are in use with the German Army Aviation Corps as part of a contract with the German Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB). The EUA assists with planning flight paths and missions, and maintains real-time contact with commanders using digital map displays. Starting in 2013, the Army Aviation Corps will begin using the Tiger ASGARD for air support and the NH90 for medevac missions.
