The South African Air Force has selected AgustaWestland to support its fleet of 30 AW109 light utility helicopters (LUHs). The manufacturer will provide component repair and overhaul services, D-Level maintenance, an on-site support team, spares, other equipment, technical support and training and technical updates. The annual comprehensive support includes the option for a five-year extension. Separately, AgustaWestland has sold an AW139 to an undisclosed VIP/corporate transport operator in southern Africa.
