Oviedo, Fla.-based Elite Simulation Solutions has released three new helicopter simulation devices, two of which are based on Eurocopter variants. The MH-350 open cockpit trainer is modeled after the AS350B. Similar to Elite’s Evolution S623, the new device is meant for single-pilot training. A second trainer, the TH-100 Mini Helicopter, is also based on the AS350B. This simulator has life-sized avionics, a Garmin 430 WAAS and allows trainees to test out a wide range of techniques, including startup and shutdown checklists. The final simulator is a Helicopter Flight Control Unit (HFCU), which is a HID-compliant flight control system. The HFCU can be customized with a Bell Jet Ranger-type twist throttle and converts into fixed-wing training by removing the collective.
