Whippany, N.J.-based Breeze-Eastern has inked a contract with the U.S. Coast Guard to design and qualify an upgraded hydraulic control box for the fleet of Eurocopter H-65 Dolphins. A production contract for over 100 units is expected to be awarded following completion of the qualification process, according to Gary Olson, Senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The company also anticipates a price guarantee contract from Sikorsky for H-60 cargo hooks, electric rescue hoist and SH-60 probe hoists, once Sikorsky has signed its “multi-year 8” contract. The five-year contract would mean production of 30 to 40 hoists per year, he noted.

Breeze-Eastern also secured contracts with the U.S. Army in August and October for 70 H-60 rescue hoists for medevac and SAR missions. The contracts involved 38 and 32 hoists, respectively.
