The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command has exercised an $8.2-million option to an existing Simmonds Precision Products contract for additional mechanical diagnostic system production, retrofit and troy kits for the Sikorsky MH-60R/S. The agreement calls for a total of 37 production kits, 19 troy kits and nine retrofit kits to be installed at the Simmonds (dba Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems) facility in Vergennes, Vt. The purchase also includes 37 vehicle health management/data transfer units. Work is scheduled for completion in March 2014.
