Eurocopter has secured the first operator of its new variant of the AS332 C1e Super Puma. Based in Ireland and South Africa, Starlite Aviation Group becomes the launch customer for the C1e with the purchase of two Super Pumas configured to offer shorter lead times and lower operational and maintenance costs. Eurocopter plans to start deliveries in late 2013 following FAA and EASA certification for the variant. The Super Puma duo is part of a fleet renewal and expansion effort for Starlite. The helicopter will join a fleet that includes 10 SA330 Pumas that conduct a range of missions including passenger transport, heavylift, surveillance and logistics support. The contract includes an option for another pair of the C1e model Super Pumas.
