The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Md. has issued a $15-million contract to San Diego, Calif.-based Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems covering operations and maintenance work on the unmanned MQ-8B Fire Scout. The agreement calls for Northrop Grumman to carry out 90 percent of the services in Afghanistan, with the rest at Patuxent River. The Navy will grant $1.5 million before the end of 2012, with the rest of the funding issued as individual delivery orders are finished. The contract is set for completion in November 2013.
