Five S-70i Black Hawks Join Colombia Fleet

Sikorsky has handed over five S-70i Black Hawks to the Special Forces unit of the Columbian Army’s Air Assault Division. The airframes were built at PZL Mielec, Poland before receiving custom equipment in the U.S.

A group of pilots and maintenance personnel transported the helicopters from Sikorsky’s plant in Connecticut through Central America to the Colombian Army’s Special Operation Aviation Military base in Tolmaida, traveling a total of 4,334 miles (9,975 km) over the course of 10 days.
