UK-based Bond Air Services has secured seven-year contract to continue providing helicopter EMS support for North West Air Ambulance (NWAA). The agreement, valued at more than £10 million (approximately $13 million), covers a population of around eight million people in an area of 5,500 square miles across five counties in northwest England—Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, greater Manchester and Merseyside. Bond supplies helicopter support, including aircraft, crew and maintenance, from Blackpool Airport and City Airport Manchester. The two organizations have worked together since NWAA’s founding in 1999, with NWAA upgrading their aircraft to a Eurocopter EC135 T2 in 2005. Bond currently operates a pair of EC135s on behalf of NWAA.
