U.K.-based Sloane Helicopters has incorporated an AgustaWestland AW109SP GrandNew into its emergency medical services (EMS) fleet. The GrandNew features a synthetic vision system, four-axis autopilot and a helicopter terrain awareness and warning system (H-TAWS). The air ambulance features a digital glass cockpit and is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PWC207C engines. AgustaWestland also offers law enforcement and corporate variants of the GrandNew airframe. Sloane received the new helicopter in Italy last week, prior to returning the aircraft to its base in Sywell.
